A New Year Full of Promise

Going into 2020 I was so excited about the new year. It was going to be a big year performance wise with several big festivals booked in for my Tina Turner Tribute Band, and my entertainment company was going strong. Until Covid.

Covid changed everything.

By March of 2020, all my performing work had vanished, and we were in lockdown. I closed my business in October, 2020 after eight years of building it with my whole heart and soul. By the time we hit May of 2021, my brain decided it had had enough and went on strike for three weeks.

I was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder, and after weeks of therapy, anti-depressants and learning all I could about how the brain functions, I am doing better than ever.

With that being said, I’m sure you understand my approaching 2022 with a bit of caution, even though I have come out of the gate pretty fast.

On the 1st of January, my duo Frankie & Glo launched it’s weekly residence at The Gaiety Southsea, and on the 3rd, I started presenting the Morning Show on ExpressFM.

The first week was terribly hard because for the pass 15+ years I have designed my life so that my days don’t start until around 11am. So, when the alarm went off at 7am, I started rethinking this whole Morning Show presenting thing. But once I got to the studio, I knew I had made the right decision. I wasn’t great that first week, but now three weeks in, I am really getting the hang of things, and loving it.

The residency is proving to be an amazing opportunity. Performing with Frankie Lewis again is an absolute dream, and each week we are developing a lovely atmosphere at The Gaiety, with loads of repeat fans. We even have a mascot, Fifi the chiquaqua.

Frankie & Glo will be embarking on an Arts Centre tour starting in September so what this space for updates.

So far this New Year seems full of great promise … here’s hoping!
